6. WORKING ON THE ROAD (EN)
Mis à jour : sept. 26
Last night was milder and we woke-up around 10 AM. This time it was without interruptions from the cold, we were well prepared too! This new life on the road which is made of simplicity begins to please us. Waking up at 6 am to go to work and the constant deafening of the traffic in the city is over. From now on, our days are made up of discussions, walking, visits, fun and, above all, love!
On the other hand, magnanimously, I kept a few clients when I left Dallas. But, after a few days without any news from me, emails and calls are coming back... Here I am, reading hundreds of emails to carry out the marketing campaigns of my clients who, unlike me, still work every day.
Having said that, I admire their understanding when faced with such a choice of life, some of them even, envy us. Admittedly, not all have accepted this new way of working, long distance with recurrent risks of unavailability for certain meetings. However, most felt that my contribution to the company remained important and accepted this type of career break.
On Emily’s side, as she has no ties from work anymore, she can take the opportunity to spend her time as she pleases. Reading, walking with the dog and, like a real chef, having fun preparing food, whether in the morning, noon or evening. Before leaving Dallas, many of my friends reminded me of, how lucky I was to have her as a partner, because their girlfriend or wife would have never accepted living in a van, far from any comfort. But as usual, I often said, "That's why I chose her".
As for Dov, he leads a real dog life! Between sleeping outside or in the van, the choice seems complicated to him. But hey, he seems to be recovering from all those recent sleepless and cold nights.
